Out of nowhere, Rockstar suddenly acquired Video Games Deluxe. This Sydney development studio has developed L.A. Noire and helped Rockstar with re-releases like GTA Trilogy.
“After working together closely over many years, we are excited to have Video Games Deluxe join the team as Rockstar Australia,”
Jennifer Kolbe
This is really interesting since it hints at Rockstar’s plans to bring back the highly requested Rockstar Franchise, LA Noire. Rockstar has rebranded the studio as Rockstar Australia. Video Game Deluxe founder Brendan McNamara expressed his enthusiasm for being recognized by Rockstar as its own studio.
“It’s been an honor to work closely with Rockstar Games this past decade,”
Brendan McNamara
While Game Deluxe created LA Noire a while ago, it has also helped Rockstar re-release it, including LA Noire: The VR Case Files and Bringing back GTA Trilogy as Grand Theft Auto Trilogy for modern consoles, Android, and Netflix.
Although we know that GTA 6 is the upcoming Rockstar project set to release this year, we can assume that LA Noire Remake could be the next title from Rockstar games. If it is remade, it will not take much time to arrive, given there are already assets available that only need to be next-gen. However, if Rockstar considers an L.A. Noire 2, then it will take longer.
LA Noire was a thrilling title released in May 2011. It was highly praised for its detective, puzzle-filled, action-adventure journey. However, we never saw a sequel to such a great title because the studio didn’t have much money to make one. After the release of L.A. Noire, Team Bondi didn’t get much revenue because the game was high-budget, resulting in the studio’s closure.
All in all, our hopes are high that this franchise will be revived and that a new release might be made soon after GTA 6.
