Bethesda Game Studios finally brought the remaster that everyone was waiting for. Elder Scrolls Oblivion Remastered is released on April 22. While not much time has passed since the release of the title, it has incredible performance, setting a new record.
According to US game sales analytics via Circana, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered has become the third highest-selling title of 2025 in the United States. This makes Bethesda’s title outcompete many big releases of the year and only trail behind Monster Hunter Wilds and Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
What’s interesting is that the game achieved this record in only a week in the US market. Meanwhile, it has become the best-selling title of the week. It’s worth noting that Elder Scrolls 4 Remastered is also available on Game Pass, which still affects game sales; such high sales in the United States are really impressive.
While claiming the top spot in the 2025 best-selling list is impressive, previous reports also pointed out such outcomes from the title. Bethesda confirmed that The Elder Scrolls 4 Remastered has surpassed 4 million players. Also, it has a Steam peak of 216k concurrent players.
Hence, following the success of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, Bethesda will be confident in trying out remasters of its classic hits like Fallout 3 and much more. There was also a leak of Fallout 3 Remastered that emerged in 2023. So, we can now anticipate the release of this remaster.
The next mainline entry in Elder Scrolls, Elder Scrolls 6, is currently in development and might arrive by 2026 or 2027. Until then, Oblivion remaster will keep players engaged and ease the pain of waiting for it.
