Avowed from Obsidian Entertainment is the Xbox’s latest first-party title. Reviewers already praised the title, giving it a decent Metacritic score. Today, we have discovered that the title has surpassed the likes of Xbox’s previous first-party title, Indiana Jones.
According to mindGame data estimations, in the first month, Avowed generated 5.9 million players worldwide, while Indiana Jones had only 4 million players. Hence, Avowed gained almost 2 million more players from the detective puzzle adventure title.

The data estimation was derived by considering Gamepass users, Steam concurrent players, the game’s search volume, and others. While it does not give fully accurate figures compared to the official one, it still gives a good idea of how the game is performing.
Meanwhile, the data also provides Call of Duty Black Ops 6’s performance, which generated 26.2 million players in the first month. This is obvious because Call of Duty is one of the biggest FPS franchises in the gaming industry.

Avowed launched on Feb 18 and was received quite well. The reviewers praised the title as an action RPG experience. Hence, it got mostly favorable reviews on Metacritic with 81 Metascore. Despite being on Game Pass, it dominated Steam’s top seller charts and reached a concurrent player peak of almost 20k on Steam.
On the other hand, Indiana Jones Steam’s concurrent players peak was at 12k, but the title’s Metacritic score is higher than Avowed’s, at 86.
Moreover, the game’s director confirmed that Avowed has sold per expectations and is considering becoming a franchise, which means there will be sequels and DLCs for the title.
