Spider-Man 2 was one of the highly anticipated PC ports from Sony, given that it is one of Sony’s successful franchises, and Spider-Man 2 was also a great offering of the franchise.
After all the anticipation, Sony dropped the game yesterday On Steam, and it appears that it pour cold water on the hopes of gamers. Spider-Man 2 PC Port at launch is plagued with issues that make the game an unplayable experience. Like others, I was also excited about the game, and when I played it, I had crashing issues after an hour of gameplay. This led to trying a few times to get some solution; however, I was unable to get anything from the game other than crashes.
Other users like me also faced many issues like crashes, bugs, glitches, graphics issues, and much more. Currently, the game has reached mixed reviews on Steam, with more than 1k negative reviews because of such issues.
Spider-Man 2 PC requirement was satisfactory for fans, and it was praised because of that. when people actually started testing these requirements in real, they ended up with nothing other than frustrations. Few users reported issues like memory leaks, such as 1440p settings drawing massive 15GB VRAM, marking this as another issue.
That said, it is really astounding to see the level of incompetence from developers who are unable to release a proper polish port at launch. This causes concerns about PC Ports From Sony from gamers, leading to a bad reputation in the industry.
It’s worth noting that this is not the only port that was released unpolished at launch; Sony already has a history of such practices seen in The Last of Us, God Of War Ragnarok, and other ports.
All in all, there are dedicated fans of Spider-Man, and they will wait for Sony patches to fix all those issues. So, Sony should not delay and release patches soon.
