Following the multiplatform strategy, Starfield was among the planned Xbox exclusives to go multiplatform. While it is rumored to be released on PS5 in 2025, today, a development has hinted further at the title’s release date.
In the game’s creation hub, a project called Ship Decals is in progress, and the work listing has a PlayStation availability below, alongside PC and Xbox. It was spotted by Redditor. It is highly suggestive that Starfield is set to release on PS5 soon. While official confirmation is worth waiting for, I suspect that it will be released in a month or two.
Starfield Creation Hub is an official mod platform where the company develops mods for the title. This ship decal mod will be available on PS5 as well, which means that Bethesda plans to release Starfield before the mod’s arrival.
Starfield developer Bethesda also teased that there will be exciting stuff for the game in 2025, and the PS5 release is surely one of them. Moreover, we might see more DLCs this year after the last Starfield: Shattered Space.
Starfield is one of the greatest RPGs of 2024 from Xbox, and it claims that it is one of the most successful single-player games. I even have played the title, and though it has flaws, like not much content into planters, it was still one of my favorite titles of 2024.
That said, Xbox has also planned other exclusives to release on PS5, including Gears of War, Halo, Indiana Jones, and others. This strategy allows Xbox to gain more revenue for a title from other platforms.
All in all, Starfield’s release on PS5 will bring happiness to PlayStation fans as it was one of the highly awaited titles of Xbox.
