God of War was highly known in Greek mythology. However, it transitioned into Norse in God of War 2018, and God of War Ragnarok was the sequel to the title.
However, it appears that the upcoming God of War is returning to its classical mythology as a new report says that the Next God Of War will feature young Kratos revolving around Greek mythology.
Previously, it was rumored that the next God of War would take place in Egyptian mythology settings. However, famous insider Tom Henderson denied that and said that instead of moving to a new mythology, God of War is returning to Greece.
“From what I’ve been told, it isn’t set in Egypt, it is actually set in Greece, and it is going to be a Younger Kratos this time

The young Kratos is an iconic character in gaming history because of their character development as an anger-filled warrior who defeats gods and others. So, the return will set the bar high for the franchise.
That said, it was also rumored that Santa Monica is looking to remaster the God of War trilogy, so it’s worth waiting to see if this is the project Tom Henderson is talking about or something else.
Moreover, this rumor also hints a bit about the story of the Next God Of War, which is the plot of Kratos’s relationship with his father, who was killed by Kratos in God Of War 3. So, it appears that this project could be a prequel to God of War 3.
