Warner Bros. recently announced the closure of Monolith production, which was developing the Wonder Woman game. Wonder Woman was the latest game to utilize Warner Bros.’s Nemesis System.
Given that Warner Bros. owned the patent of the Nemesis System until 2036, the cancellation of Wonder Woman left everyone uncertain about the fate of this technology.
However, we could speculate that Rocksteady’s rumored Batman game will utilize this groundbreaking technology to enhance the gameplay experience.
Monolith Production introduced the Nemesis System in the Middle Earth Shadow of Mordor. This AI technology enhanced the gameplay experience of the title because the enemies were trained to remember and adapt to the player’s actions, making the combat more challenging and immersive.

This system was received quite well in the Middle Earth Shadow of Mordor, and hence, it was later improved in the Middle Earth Shadow of War in 2017. However, it is expected to be improved further after those years.
While we cannot make any official announcement, the chances are high that Warner Bros will not ignore this groundbreaking AI technology after licensing it for 2036 and in the rumored Batman to enhance the AI enemy abilities, creating a more dynamic and immersive combat experience.
That said, we have already reported that the upcoming Batman game will be PlayStation exclusives and will focus on melee combat and open-world traversal, suggesting a Batman Arkham title.
All in all, Warner Bros. is in a difficult condition because of Suicide Squad’s failure. It is losing much revenue as it has closed three studios, including Monolith Productions, Player First Games, Warner Bros. Games San Diago.
Hence, this leads to concern for the upcoming Batman title development as well. However, we suggest to wait and hopeful for best.
