After Dragon Dogma 2’s mediocre performance, Capcom is gearing up for its next title, Monster Hunter Wilds. An early review of the title has been leaked, suggesting that Monster Hunter Wilds is an optimized launch from Capcom.
This review was from PCMag. However, it has been removed, so we cannot link it. The writer received a review copy of the title and, upon experiencing the game on its PS5, gave it a full score. According to the review, Monster Hunter Wilds features three modes: fidelity, balance, and performance mode, which targets 30 and 60 FPS, depending on the mode.
However, the title plays smoothly on PS5 in all modes without any performance issues, such as stuttering, frame drops, visual blur, and others.
While Monster Hunter Wilds open beta previously had performance issues on PS5, such as frame drops, it appears that Capcom has patched all issues, and now it will be a polished and optimized title at launch.
It’s worth reminding that Capcom’s previous title, Dragon Dogma 2, had a terrible launch performance, and it has many issues on consoles and PC as well. However, it is good to see that Capcom has learned from its mistakes.
Given the writer only played the PS5 version, so he gave insights into it, we can expect that Capcom has fixed the issues in the PC version as well. Hence, performance fears are no longer a concern for the title.
Moreover, the reviewer gave the title full scoring, praising all its aspects, including visuals, combat system, narrative, and performance. It cited Monster Hunter Wilds as a true evolution of the franchise that began in 2004.
