The Gears of War collection is in the rumor mill. While there have been many rumors about the title previously, today, an insider seems skeptical about the previous rumor that the Gears of War Collection is skipping PvP. According to Jez Corden, he cannot confirm the title’s previous rumors.
However, past rumors have contained misinformation, and it is very odd that the title will not include PvP. Hence, Jez Corden, while previously saying that the title will not include PvP, is now questioning his own claims and appears to believe that it could be misinformation.
“Been unable to confirm or debunk this so far, aside from the suggestion that there’s some misinformation in the current rumors. I do think it would be an odd thing for any prospective “Gears Collection” to ship without PvP”.

This will bring a glimmer of hope for fans who have shown dissatisfaction after hearing about the ditching of PvP mode. It’s worth noting that PvP is the backbone of Gears of War and Halo multiplayer, and skipping this would be a big step back.
Meanwhile, the insider also claims that the Gears of War Collection will include a co-op, which is a positive development. Still, it cannot replace PvP, so we believe Gears of War will not skip PvP.
In PvP inclusion, players can keep themselves engaged for hours with addictive modes that challenge other players, including Deathmatch, King of Hill, Capture the Flag, and much more. So, the addition of PvP is a must-feature for fans.
Previously, we reported that the Gears of War collection would ship before Gears of War E-day, acting as a primer. After that, there was another rumor that Gears of War E-day would launch in 2026, and the collection would be announced in the Xbox showcase in June.
The Gears of War collection will include the series’ first three entries, and Gears of War 1 is the highly demanded title in the collection. Hence, fans eagerly await this Collection’s release to play the nostalgic Gears of War on their modern console with modern graphics, modern performance, and much more.
