While FromSoftware every title is special, the fanbase of Elden Ring is of another level. So, FromSoftware released an expansion for Elden Ring Shadow Of The Erdtree on June 21, 2024. Upon its arrival, it took the gaming community by storm as it became the most liked DLC.
Meanwhile, it did not leave its presence at Game Awards and has been nominated for some categories. However, today the DLC has made an award to its name. New Yords Awards winners were announced today, and it has won the Best DLC award of the year. Also, the expansion has taken home the Statue Of Liberty Award for Best World.
While Game Awards didn’t have a separate category for DLCs, still this expansion has been recognized in four category nominations including, Best Art Direction, Best RPG, Best Game Direction, and even Game Of The Year, which was later won By Astrobot.
Apart From Elden Ring, The New York Awards has given appreciation to other titles, including Game of the Year to Astrobot, Best Remake To Silent Hill 2 Remake, and others.
Of course, there is no denying that there is no DLC that matches the standards of Elden Ring Shadow Of The Erdtree hence, it deserves that recognition. In fact, it is also rated as the best DLC ever made after the Witcher 3 DLCs.
The expansion is really huge and even might match the content of a fully-fledged AAA game. From new enemies, weapons, items, new bosses, plotlines, and much more, it has everything to keep players embarking on a new Elden Ring Journey.
Nevertheless, FromSoftware is not saying no to more Elden Ring content for fans, as it is releasing Elden Ring Nightreign in 2025, which is a cooperative Spinoff for Elden Ring allowing players to help each other defeat the formidable bosses.
