Koei Tecmo, the developer behind Dynasty Warriors and the upcoming Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty appears to have delivered another worthy title. Dynasty Warriors Origins, which is set to release on January 25, 2025, has already started getting attention.
Recently, the review embargo was lifted, and it seems that Koei Tecmo has done a fabulous job with this title, as most outlets praised the title. Interestingly, the title has received another recognition. Dynasty Warriors Origins is currently dominating the Steam Charts Worldwide.
Prior to its release, it had managed to climb to the top-selling title on Steam globally. Whereas, even in its early access, it dominated Japan’s Steam rankings. Currently, it has thousands of players on SteamDB despite being early access. Moreover, it also has overwhelmingly positive reviews on Steam, based on 868 reviews until now.
While we should wait for the launch to get our hands on the title, these early metrics show that Koei Tecmo’s efforts in the project have paid off. It has also got a decent Metacritic Rating, as based on 19 critic reviews, it has got an 85 score.
Critics even rated the title as the best Dynasty Warrior game in the entire franchise because of its strength in each sector including narrative, gameplay, combat, and others. From the reviews, we get that the title has done has immense job crafting an immersive storyletting, with its narrative of a warrior suffering from Amnesia. The Storyline Balances History and Drama pretty well.
The combat has also got a big emphasis as it’s filled immensely with enemies. With fast pacing, different weapon types, and special attacks, the combat gets very engaging.
