Kojima is gearing up to release Death Stranding 2: On The Beach in 2025. Although trailers of the title are already revealed, the studio teases that the next trailer is on its way. Hideo Kojima says On X that the latest trailer is in its final stages of editing, which suggests that Death Stranding 2 is getting a new trailer soon.

While the previous trailer released back in February featured cutscenes, this new trailer will focus on music, setting the pacing of the whole trailer. The developer emphasized that due to lack of time, the edits of the trailer were done during flights and commutes, joining the different parts together. Given the accelerating of the editing process, it appears that Kojima wants to drop the trailer as soon as possible.
“This time, the editing process revolves around the music. With even less time for hands-on editing than usual, I’ve been piecing it together mostly in my head—during flights and commutes—before assembling it on the actual editing system. The initial cut, arranged intuitively based on the sound, is then refined through a more analytical approach, adjusting for narrative flow, misdirection, and transitions.”
Based on this developer tease, the new trailer will unfold the narrative with a music theme of Death Stranding 2, creating an immersive and engaging glimpse at the upcoming title.
The recent February trailer introduces new characters and gives a little bit of hint at the story of the title; however, this latest trailer will further showcase the narrative with an immersive experience because of the emphasis on the music theme.
Moreover, we can expect in-depth gameplay insights featuring intense combat, traversal, open-world highlights, and much more, with music as the main tone-setter.
What we know so far from the previous trailers is that Death Stranding 2 features the return of Norman Reedus as Sam, with previous cast members including Léa Seydoux and Troy Baker and a new character, Elle Fanning.
All in all, it appears that Kojima is making sure that the launch of Death Standing 2 goes smoothly without any delays. And in the latest trailer; we might have the exact release date of the title.
