After much anticipation, we finally got Sony’s new PS5 Pro console. Although newer games will benefit from the console because of its RNDA 4 SOC compared to PS5 RDN2, it is also great for old titles because of its innovative PS5 PRO enhanced option. While the list has increased progressively, another title has been included. Krafton has announced Callisto Protocol for PS5 PRO, allowing players to play the game at either 4K 60 FPS or even at a higher 8K resolution on 30 FPS.
Interestingly, the game can run at 8k, which is surprising for a AAA title. Such high resolutions are impossible without changes like the new RDNA 4 architect of PS5 PRO, which allows for better AI capabilities like PSSR. Moreover, Callisto Protocol PS5 PRO will have full ray tracing on this PS5 PRO enhanced option.
Callisto Protocol PS5 PRO was announced on X, with a post increasing the anticipation: Fight out of Black Iron Prison with breathtaking 8K at 30 or 4K at 60 FPS, both with full ray tracing.
Striking Distance Studios released this ambitious title in 2020 with a massive budget of $162 million. Although it was similar to Dead Space, both belonging to the same genre, it is not par with the title because of its various flaws, such as repetitive gameplay, limited bosses, mediocre combat, and others.
Nevertheless, Sony has given a great reason to replay the game again: higher frames and more impressive visual details will enhance the horror experience.
Although PS5 PRO is a great addition for gamers, it has been found to be worse in some titles, such as Star Wars Jedi Survivors, Call of Duty Black Ops 6, Silent Hill 2, and others, where the PSSR upscaling has caused issues like shimmering and strobing image quality. However, the issues will be solved as the technology is new, so it will improve over time.
All in all, there have been over 50 titles that are enhanced on PS5 PRO, which include Dead Island 2 Demon’s Souls, Diablo IV, Dragon Age: The Veilguard, Dragon’s Dogma 2, Dying Light 2 Reloaded Edition, and EA Sports FC 25.
