We all are familiar with ground combat, but have we ever tried aerial combat? If so, then the ace combat franchise is going to challenge you with formidable aerial enemies; though the franchise is based on a micro niche, it’s still made to the hearts of many fans.
The latest entry of the franchise Ace Combat 7 has been quite successful, and it has now sold 5 million copies worldwide, boasting the franchise to a new record of 18 million sales worldwide.
Ace Combat 7 was released back in January 2019 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One and later available for PC via Steam in February.
Following its release, the game received impressive Critics from users and quickly became the best-selling game of the franchise.
Previously, it was reported that the game has sold 4 million copies since its release; however, after a year, it has now reached a new landmark of 5 million sales.
However, it remains to know where does most of the sales are derived from, as there’s no mention of platform-specific sales.
The success of the game seemingly impressed the developers as it recently reported that a new title, Ace Combat 8, is also in the works, though some fans believe that there should be a VR element in the game.
Meanwhile, taking inspiration from Ace Combat 7 sales, the franchise is looking to make Ace Combat 8 more ambitious as there is a separate studio established for the game, and developers are hiring in the studio.
Furthermore, to enhance the flight simulation, the studio is making the game on Unreal Engine 5 which will make the sky more realistic than ever before.

We believe that Bandai Namco will incorporate more budget into its next game while taking its time to cook the game so as to make it ambitious, boasting the franchise to other heights in the industry.
