Ghost of Yotei is one of the look-ahead to exclusives from Sony. Announced back in 2024, this Ghost of Tsushima sequel easily became one of the most highly anticipated games of the year. Today, we have found an early preview of the title.
In an interview with Easy Allies, former PlayStation boss Shuhei Yoshida said that he had the chance to play Ghost of Yotei. The game producer let the boss into his room to get feedback on the title, which is in development. According to Shuhei Yoshida, Ghost of Yoeti looks awesome, and he is really excited about the game and looking forward to it.
Elsewhere in the interview, the boss praised two big Sony first-party studios, Sucker Punch and Naughty Dog, saying that they always meet expectations and they really feel great, and when you start playing them, they hook you for hours.
Ghost of Yotei is the latest talk thing for Sony, given the popularity of the first game, Ghost of Tsushima, which also got game of the year in 2020. While Ghost of Yotei is slated for 2025, and Sony also reconfirmed the year again, making no room for delay, there is a rumor that it will release between mid- to late July.
Ghost of Yotei takes place in the year 1603, which is three centuries after Ghost of Tsushima, and is set in Mount Yotei. The plot revolves around Atsu, the female protagonist of the game. New information reveals that Atsu will embark on a journey to hunt down the killers of her family with weapons including dual katanas, odachi, and kusarigama.
During her revenge journey, there is also a new bounty hunting mechanic, and it can benefit from games like Red Dead Redemption, which already has a great bounty hunting system. The sequel changes vary from new mechanics to improvements in the gameplay.
All in all, Ghost of Yotei will not disappoint Sony fans and will add great value to the PlayStation exclusives library.
