After two delays, Ubisoft is finally set to release Assassin’s Creed Shadows on March 20, 2025. So, there is only a week until the title is launched. However, by looking at the title’s Steam statistics, it appears that the demand for the title is not very high on Steam.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows is not found in the top 10 Steam sellers. However, it’s less than a week to its release, and many titles dominated Steam charts in this timeline, including Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, Monster Hunter Wilds, and others.
So this means that the Assassin’s Creed Shadows preorders on Steam are not in the top range and lying somewhat in the middle range. The Steam charts are currently dominated by the likes of Monster Hunter Wilds and Split fiction, while Assassin’s Creed Shadows is in the top 20 Steam sellers.
It’s worth mentioning that Ubisoft previously iterated that the demand for the title is good as preorders of the title are very high. However, it is surprising that Steam is not showing the results that the company claims. Assassin’s Creed is a big franchise, so it should be in the top 10 Steam sellers. However, the top 20 spot puts a lot of concern on the launch of the title.
On the other hand, the preorders on the PlayStation side are very good as the title has claimed the top preorder spots in PS stores in various regions, including the US, the UK, and others.
However, the delay made the game much more polished, and the early previews and trailer showed that Assassin’s Creed Shadows could be one of the greatest titles of the franchise.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows’ success is vital for Ubisoft, given that the company is on the verge of falling, and reports say that it is considering selling its IPs to Microsoft and EA.
All in all, March 20 is a big day for Ubisoft and also for us, as we are also excited about the launch of the title.
