While PlayStation Fans are complaining about the lack of worthwhile first-party exclusives this generation, today, an interesting rumor has emerged, creating excitement for Sony fans. Project Ooze was already in talks because of a few leaks, and now it has been revealed that Sony is planning to announce this game in 2025.
This is a rumor from the renowned gaming forum Icon Era via Areajugones, which is a credible gaming forum and has given plenty of leaks and rumors. While the year PlayStation hasn’t had any events yet, State of Play is scheduled for February, so we could hope that it could be announced there.
Project Ooze has been in development for a few years, and if it is announced within a few months, the game might even be released this year.
Apart from the announcement details, more interesting details about the project were also revealed. As per the source, Project Ooze is a Sci-fi-based RPG using Unreal Engine 5, which is not something out of the box, given most of the latest titles use that engine.
Meanwhile, the studio that is behind the game’s development is a European Game studio. However, it was not revealed the exact description of the studio. Given PlayStation has already announced Sci-fi’s upcoming title Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, it should be kept in mind that this is another project not to be confused with that.
Furthermore, it was also in the rumor mill that Santa Monica is also working on a Sci-Fi title by Cory Barlog, and some speculate that it could be Darkside canceled in the PS4 era.
That said, it is surprising that PlayStation is currently working on three Sci-fi titles, which is really hard to believe; however, the leak sources are also worthy of consideration because of their past credibility. Still, we suggest our users take this with a grain of salt and wait for official confirmation.
All in all, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet is the only confirmed sci-fi game, and the trailer of the title was not somewhat pleasing to fans; hence, it was criticized for its ugly character. The game’s release date remains unknown.
