Bethesda’s latest RPG, Starfield, appears to have impressed more and more people as it’s been five months since its release, but it is still far from stoppage.
Starfield got 6 million players in less ten days; however, that was not the end; a month before, the game amassed 11 million players.
While continuing the streak of success, the game has achieved yet another milestone; as of now, the game has amassed over 12 million players, raising the bar for Bethesda’s RPG.
Phil Spencer was on an interview at CCXP in Brazil for the justification of the Xbox series X price hike in Brazil, and during this panel, the Xbox CEO asserted that their ambition RPG Starfield had surpassed 12 million players.
The CEO recalled that the game is amongst the top 10 most played games of our studios, showing gratitude to all those who helped the game achieve such success.
Starfield has now had over 12 million players since the launch of Starfield and it still sits in our top 10 most played games from our studios,” said Spencer. “So thank you everybody for all the support on Starfield and making it a tremendous hit.”
Though it’s been a success for Xbox with the game, the game is far from the competition against other massive RPG hits like Baldur’s Gate 3 and Cyberpunk 2077.
Looking back at the game awards, the game hasn’t even been nominated for the Game of the Year award while although the game has been nominated for the Players Choice Award, Starfield can’t stand against other blockbusters like Baldur’s Gate 3 and Cyberpunk 2077 and is easily eliminated on the first round of voting.
Similarly, the game fell down in Steam player count drastically, and even Bethesda’s more than a decade-old RPG Skyrim got Steam player count more than Starfield.
