Since these are company official numbers, there is no unreliability in them. According to Capcom, the game is generating sales rapidly, and Monster Hunter Wilds has become the fastest-selling title ever in the history of the company.
While it had 1 million sales in just 6 hours of release, it is impressive that it has sold 7 million more in just three days. Claiming this milestone in only three days, there is no doubt that it will outpass the lifetime sales of Monster Hunter Worlds in just a month, which are 21.3 million units as of now.
“Following the game’s announcement, Capcom promoted the appeal of Monster Hunter Wilds to a broad audience worldwide, exhibiting the title at global video game events and holding an online open beta test to give many players a chance to try it, while also providing updates on game information via the online events such as Monster Hunter Wilds Showcase. As a result of these continuous global initiatives, Monster Hunter Wilds has evoked massive excitement and achieved sales of eight million units in three days, the fastest any game has done so in Capcom’s history”.

Monster Hunter Wilds is currently a top seller in almost all regions, including China, the UK, the USA, and others. Moreover, it has also become the top 5th most-played Steam title with over 1.4 million concurrent players, surpassing hits such as Baldur’s Gate 3, Hogwarts Legacy, Elden Ring, and others. With the help of the title, Steam has also reached its all-time peak player count of 40 million.
However, it is still behind China’s RPG Black Myth Wukong, which reached over 2 million concurrent players and became Steam’s most-played title of 2024.
Despite PC performance issues leading to many negative reviews on Steam, it is impressive to see that this hasn’t caused any hurdle in its success. Currently, the most recommended platform for playing the title is PS5 Pro because of its enhanced version and smooth performance.
