One of the highly liked Horror franchises, Resident Evil, is getting a bunch of re-releases on modern consoles, including Xbox series X/S and PS5. This was spotted in ESRB ratings. First, VGC spotted one of Resident Evil 6 listings for Xbox, and now we have a few more ratings of other classic Resident Evil titles, including Resident Evil Origins, Resident Evil 7, and Resident Evil 4.

Resident Evil Origins is a collection of remasters of Resident Evil and Resident Evil Zero for the last-gen consoles Xbox One and PS4. However, this recent rating suggests that this remaster is extending further into modern consoles Xbox Series X/S and PS5.

Moreover, Resident Evil 4 already has a successful remake released back in 2023, but Capcom looking to still re-release its original version in the form of a remaster for the consoles.

The Resident Evil 7 Biohazard is already on modern consoles, as it was released in 2017. So, it is surprising why this rating has been done for this one.

All in all, Capcom is looking to revitalize the nostalgia of Resident Evil by re-releasing its old titles for modern systems. Given the modern consoles are powerful enough to run AAA titles on 4K Resolution, it will be interesting to see those classical in modern graphics.

Resident Evil Origins is the most interesting one fans will look forward to, as it’s the oldest one that genuinely needed a re-release for modern consoles. While it’s good to have rereleases, the price point for these will be the key determinant for the reception.

Nevertheless, it also keeps the fans busy until the release of Resident Evil 9, which is rumored to be released next year also a remake of Resident Evil Code Veronica is in development; however, its release date is unknown.
