Crux Of The Story
- Nvidia is discontinuing the RTX 4070 series, which includes RTX 4070, 4070Ti SUPER, and 4070 SUPER.
- The cessation is because NVIDIA is paving the path for the launch of RTX 50 Blackwell Series GPUs.
- Reports Say that NVIDIA will launch the GPUs in January 2025 at CES 2025.
It appears that Nvidia high-end GPUs, such as the RTX 40 series, are concluding as the team green is gearing up for the next-gen RTX 50 Blackwell series GPUs, which is reportedly launching at CES 2025. While Nvidia has already ended the production of RTX 4090, 4090D, and 4080 super, the latest reports suggest that it is now looking to cease the production of another batch of the RTX 40 series, which includes the RTX 4070 series.
This information came via Board Channels Forum transcribed by VIDEOCARDZ, that Nvidia is planning to stop production of RTX 4070, 4070Ti SUPER, and RTX 4070 SUPER as imminent as December.
The following discontinuation of the RTX 40 series corroborates the leaks of NVIDIA launching the RTX 50 “Blackwell” Series at CES 2025, which is going to be held in January.
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER has had a scant inventory; therefore, there will be no issue with going out of stock by the end of this month (November). NVIDIA will discontinue producing RTX 4070 SUPER and RTX 4070 graphics cards by November’s end or early December. Chip supply will continue until December, and partners (AICs) will clear the remaining inventory by January, paving the way for the RTX 50 series launch.
It’s worth noting here that RTX 4060 and RTX 4060Ti are the only GPUs in the series that are not going to be affected by the changes made for the RTX 50 launch.
Meanwhile, if we look at the upcoming schedule, there is the arrival of Black Friday and the Holiday season, so we might see a significant discount on the following cards to clear them from the stock inventory.
This means that NVIDIA is highly prepared for the launch of the RTX 50 series at CES 2025.
Furthermore, it is not only NVIDIA that is launching next-gen GPUs as other manufacturers; AMD and Intel are also gearing up for the GPUs. Intel is reportedly launching its next-gen GPU Battlemage “Xe2” next month, while AMD is still a bit far away.
Nonetheless, all competitors are going end-to-end for the new generation of GPUs. However, it is worth mentioning that NVIDIA GPU will be the top performer along with AMD, while Intel will compete with AMD in the mid-budget Section.
