Koei Tecmo has released its financial earnings report outlining the revenue generated from various franchises, and in the report, we found interesting figures. Dynasty Warriors’ hack-and-slash franchise has been the company’s most profitable franchise, and as of now, it has reached an incredible milestone of 21 million units in sales.
This 21 million figure is from the previous Dynasty Warrior titles, and the latest Dynasty Warriors Origins sales are not included as it was released recently. The title’s performance until now is impressive, given that it topped Steam charts prior to launch and reached more than 60k concurrent players upon launch.
So, the Dynasty Warriors franchise will see more sales in the coming time because of the success of Dynasty Warriors Origins.
In the report, apart from Dynasty Warriors, Koei Tecmo also showed the sales performance of other franchises, including 5 million for Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, over 7.5 million copies for Nioh and Ninja Gaiden, and over 8 million for Romance of the Three Kingdoms.

However, Koei Techmo reported sales short of expectation in FY24 because the major titles did not perform in the timeline. In the year, Romance Of The Three Kingdoms 8 Remake sold 200k copies, and Fairy Tales Sold 120k.
That said, Koei Tecmo’s next year sales could see good results because of the launch of big titles like Dynasty Warriors Origins and Ninja Gaiden 2 Black, a remaster of Ninja Gaiden, which is set for January 23, 2025 launch.
