New age ratings from Australian boards suggest that there are two Call of Duty classics that are getting a revival for modern consoles very soon. As spotted by Insider Gaming, the Australian Board has rated two games from Activision Blizzard with Arabic numerals 2 and 3, highly suggestive that its Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 of 2009 and Modern Warfare 3 of 2011 are being re-released.
The Australian Board has rated M 15+ for these games, which is obvious for a classic Call of Duty title. While the first listing clearly mentions the PS5 Cross Gen Edition, the other only has a cross-gen label. This means that these titles will be playable on PS5, PS4, and Xbox Series S/X.
It is worth noting that when a game gets a rating, it is closer to its release date, so we will be able to play these classic titles on our modern systems very soon.
Similarly, there were claims from XboxEra that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will join Xbox Game GamePass in April 2025, so this rating corroborates this report. Currently, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2023 and Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 are available on Xbox Game Pass.
While Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 already has a remastered version released back in 2020, it is only a remaster of the campaign. So, the latest re-release will feature both campaign and multiplayer.
On the other hand, there are also reports that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is getting a remastered version. Hence, there are many Modern Warfare remastered versions on the way.
