Battlefield is the second-biggest franchise in the FPS genre after Call of Duty. Therefore, anticipation of the next Battlefield is sky-high, given that the last game was Battlefield 2024, released in 2021.
However, today, we have found interesting tidbits about the upcoming release. According to Dice producer David Sirland, the next Battlefield will feature the best cherry-pick strategy for each area. David says that the team knows what worked in the previous release and what didn’t, so the team is looking for the best strategy for the next game.
We are pretty well informed of what things were not appreciated in the last one, the one before and the other lot. We are looking to find the best possible cherry pick strategy for each area

This suggests that Battlefield 6 will have highly overhauled mechanics in destruction, gunplay, movement, and others. The requested feature would be a fortification system from BF5, which allows players to construct structures during matches, such as buildings, to create cover and obstacles for opponents.

From the movement perspective, the team could benefit from the inspiration of Battlefield 5, which has the best movements in the entire franchise. Meanwhile, the sniping of Battlefield 1 was highly praised, so this could also be considered for the next game.
All in all, the franchise has a number of great titles, each with its own specialty, so the team could work to figure out the best possible mixture for the upcoming title.
That said, EA has already announced that the next Battlefield will be released before April 2026 and will take the franchise to its core roots with major inspiration from highly praised titles, including Battlefield 3 and Battlefield 4.
